Arco, a piano and cello duo, releases their first album entitled Asymmetry, consisting of lovely arrangements of mostly original tunes played with verve and skill. With more than just a touch of classical elegance, the album spans various moods such as upbeat, fresh, somber, and refined. Although it may be apt to call this music classical-pop/pop-classical rather than typical jazz, the improvisational spirit and composed musicianship is definitely on display, and quite enjoyable.
